The Bar Harbor Historical Society Museum is located at the quiet town of Bar Harbor in the state of Maine. The museum contains numerous collections of photographs, paintings, artworks, archives and microfilms pertaining to the history of the town of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is famous for being a ?summer colony? in Maine that attracts countless visitors from all over the United States. The town also contains the bigger parts of Acadia National Park, including the picturesque mountain, Cadillac Mountain.
The museum is situated right where the former St. Edward? Convent once was. It is interesting to note that the convent was a summer residence of the second American-born person to be canonized as saint ? Saint Katherine Drexel. For its historic value, the building was included in the list of National Register of Historic Places.
