The Fryeburg Historical Museum focuses on the collection and preservation of the history of Fryeburg, the Fryeburg area, Oxford County, and the State of Maine. It is able to preserve articles, material objects, specimens, and other artifacts. It aims to illustrate and demonstrate the lifestyle, modes, and habits of the former times of these areas. It also recognizes the people who have contributed to make history and achieve development in these areas as well.
The Museum is supported by the 300 members of the Fryeburg Historical Society, which was organized in 1974. The Fryeburg Historical Museum aids the society in preserving the town?s beauty and heritage. The Society also manages a library near the Museum?s building.
