The Owls Head Transportation Museum is a must-see for those passionate about vehicles of all types. Its collection of automobiles as well as pioneer-era aircraft is considered to be one of the best in the world. Its aircraft collection currently include 28 different examples of aircraft spanning more than a century of evolution, from an 1804 unmanned glider of Cayley to WWII aircraft. Its automobile collection, on the other hand, includes fifty different vehicles on exhibit such as the 1935 Stout Scarab, which is an extremely rare vehicle. It?s considered to be the first mini-van manufactured and there are only six of them existing. Also available in the collection is a refurbished Stanley K Semi-Racer (1908). The museum also has nine models in its motorcycle collection (1913 ? 1953), thirteen models in its carriage collection (1849 ? 1910), and 14 bike models, with the earliest being produced in the 1860?s.
The museum also holds a wide variety of events throughout the years like free rides on their Model T, children?s programs, and antique airplane shows.
