The Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History shows off the important role played by the black people in the entire history of the United States, particularly in the foundation of Detroit. The most interesting museum feature would be the underground railway that would let you see the liberation of the slaves from Michigan and straight to Canada.
This is the largest museum that features such a racial theme. It renders not just exhibits but also diverse learning opportunities through various art programs, events, collections and many more. Each of any of these tell a story or two about the cultural history of the African Americans.
The museum was founded in 1965 and measures about 120,000s square foot. It can be spotted right in the heart of the city?s cultural center.
