The Chassell Heritage Center is the home of the Chassell Township Museum and the Friends of Fashion Vintage Clothing Collection. It is housed in the historic Southwell Elementary School in Chassell, Michigan.
The Southwell Elementary School was built in 1917, five years later than the neighboring Chassell High School. It was designed by the same architects, the Maass brothers, in the same architectural style as the high school building. The school was named after the parents of the lady who donated the land of the school lot.
The Southwell Elementary School was used until 1991 and then acquired by the Chassell Heritage Center in 1993. The building is a listed site in the National Register of Historic Places as the Chassell School Complex with the Chassell High School building.
