Located in Harbor Beach, Michigan is the Grice House Museum, the former home of the Grice family who moved from England to the US in the 1860s. The house was built by James Grice and was resided by him and his five sons and one daughter.
Today, the Grice House Museum features the history of the area, primarily what life was like back then. The site is basically a complex of a couple of structures, including the Grice House, a pole barn, and an old schoolhouse. The house itself offers special exhibit areas like the Sewing Room and the Marine Room. The schoolhouse was reconstructed to display a traditional school back in the 1800s. Most of the items on display were donated by locals.
