Also known as the Hanka Homestead, the Herman and Anna Hanka Farm is a 40 acre farm complex comprised of eleven buildings. It was established in 1896 and was the home of the Finnish settler family from its initial construction until 1966.
The great thing about the Herman and Anna Hanka Farm is that it is relatively intact and unchanged from its 1920s appearance. This made it a perfect example of the agricultural lifestyle back in the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
The National Historic Registy listed Herman and Anna Hanka Farm is open to the public during its season from Memorial Day to Labor Day on a schedule. Self guided tours are occasionally available as well.
