The Minnesota History Center serves as a permanent home to a museum, galleries, a research library, theatre, store, and even a cafe.
The attractive building, using a classic Roman-style of architecture, lures its visitors to come and marvel at a picture-perfect view of St. Paul?s Cathedral as well as the Minnesota State Capitol by looking through the huge interior windows in its exhibition space.
The Museum?s permanent collections consist of important objects, each telling a part of Minnesota?s history. Examples of these are Charles Lindberg?s airplanes and a can of Spam, which is part of the MN150 exhibition. It also becomes interactive as school children get to experience its rocket ship, train, and other car related interactive exhibits.
The center provides more avenues for learning through its other areas. Its library boasts of the largest and most extensive materials regarding the culture and history of Minnesota. Theatrical plays are also made available throughout the year. Furthermore, the center provides a venue for several regular events that are related to the exhibits like concerts.
