The Aldrich House Museum is a place where people can learn more about Bess Streeter, her works, book lists, her home, and other subjects related to her. It also features other activities that provide educational and informative experiences.
Bess Streeter Aldrich was one of the finest writers in Nebraska. She was known for recreating the ups and downs of small town living in her works, which are mostly in short stories and novels. She wanted the readers to understand the struggles of these times and see realize the virtues and hopes that have become a part of these prairie times in the Midwest.
The house features cases of Aldrich memorabilia that includes letter written by Bess Streeter, souvenirs from her movie, family historic pieces, and many more. Visitors to the House will also be able to see Flossie, the Bess? doll when she was a girl. A video presentation showing the life and history of Bess Streeter Aldrich is also shown in the Museum to provide another medium of learning for visitors.
