Lowell, Nebraska?s Boot Hill Cemetery is the resting place of more than 25 people who have died in a cross fire between the homesteaders and cowboys. There are tons of places like this in the US, especially in the West, for a couple of reasons. Most are primarily for the soldiers who fought in the wars, while others are considered as paupers? graves.
The Boot Hill Cemetery in the small village of Lowell is believed to be one of the oldest of its kind in the West. Luckily, a marker made of cement has been put up in 1976 to commemorate this fateful resting place.
To get to the Boot Hill cemetery, some hiking may be required. The scene from the top is beautiful, though.
