The Kearney Area Children?s Museum, which is popularly known as Kid Zone, has exhibits categorized into different ?kid zones?. At the Science Zone, kids learn about biology and everything between the dinosaur and space age. In the Agriculture Zone, the main attraction is the Herbie?s Family Farm, where kids can try ploughing land with a real-life tractor among other things. In the House That I Built at the Construction Zone, kids learn about what?s found between the walls of houses and other structures. Other zones in the museum include the Art, Fire, Grocery, Music & Dance, Post Office, Piggy Bank, Sports, Toddler, Theater, and Water Zones.
Also popular are the Dobytown Junction at the Train Zone and the Health Complex at the Medical Zone.
At the museum, visitors are sure to enjoy participating in its various regular events and annual celebrations, which include Breakfast with Santa, Halloween parties, Free Family Fun Nights, and numerous kinds of day camps.
