Jennie Lee, a former dancer, started a collection of burlesque memorabilia. When she died of breast cancer in 1990, another former dancer and friend, Dixie Evans, took over Lee?s project and built the Exotic World Burlesque Museum together with Lee?s widower. The museum was renamed to Burlesque Hall of Fame when it moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Burlesque Hall of Fame holds a collection of everything related to the industry. Visitors can see the old posters, newspaper clippings, playbills, and photographs of veteran performers. Costumes and props are also on display.
The Burlesque Hall of Fame is also the home to Miss Exotic World Pageant, which has been taking place since 1990 to draw people to the museum.
