The New Mexico Mining Museum is a mining museum in Grants, New Mexico. It is touted and best known as the ?Only Uranium Mining Museum in the World?.

The New Mexico Mining Museum traces its roots back to the year 1950, when Paddy Martinez, a Navajo rancher, found uranium around the Grants/Cibola area. By that time, uranium was already known to be an excellent ingredient for nuclear fission, making such a discovery a great find. Soon enough, mining sites started to rise around the area, most of which are with a contract from the US Atomic Energy Commission. With the area being found to be one of the richest uranium reserves in the world, the area became popular for its geological features.

Today, visitors of the New Mexico Mining Museum can relieve this early mining days through an underground mine replica.
