The New Mexico Museum of Space History is both a museum and planetarium located at Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was initially called ?International Space Hall of Fame? after the Baseball Hall of Fame which served as its inspiration. The museum-planetarium was built with an IMAX theater and launched in 1981. It was renamed as the ?Space Center? in 1987 and it was only in 2001 that it was officially called its present name.

The museum-planetarium complex is devoted to preserve and display space science related artifacts. They particularly house the International Space Hall of Fame. They also emphasize the important contributions of New Mexico to the US Space Program.

Some of their notable exhibits and facilities include the Solar System, space primates, and mock-ups of space equipments, the Clyde W. Tombaugh IMAX Theater and Planetarium, and the Hubbard Space Science Education Building. Outside the museum is the John P. Stapp Air and Space Park and the Astronaut Memorial Garden.
