The Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts forms an integral part of New York?s Brooklyn district thanks mainly in part to the center?s contribution to the development of the performing arts. The Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts is located inside the campus of Brooklyn College.

The center is run by a nonprofit organization focused on promoting and presenting the arts with the talents and skills of local Brooklyn natives. Theatre and dramatics will be the main thing to look forward to in visiting this historical place. The center will specifically cater to people who would like to see classical or contemporary plays and dramas as performed by local talents. Tickets for performances will be from Monday through Thursday during the summer season and Tuesdays to Saturdays for the regular season.

The Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts has three different halls where performances are made, all of which have been named from famous Brooklyn Center alumnus such as the George Gershwin Hall, the Sam Levenson Hall and the Walt Whitman Hall where performances have been made by famous artists such as Luciano Pavorotti and Tony Bennett.

The Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts is also the home of the Brooklyn Center Cinema. The cinema boasts of being the unique component for the Brooklyn Center and is the definitive alternative movie showplace in New York. All theatres for the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts are up to par with the industry standards and have also been designed for people with disabilities. There is no shortage of events for the Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts as it regularly holds various plays and performances such as the Brooklyn Center Presents series and Brooklyn Center?s Community Showcase.

The Center is also the sanctuary for the Brooklyn College Conservatory.
