The Metropolitan Museum of Art (or "The Met") was founded in 1870. The central thing about this beaux-art building was commissioned in 1894 through the recognized designer Richard Morris Hunt to change an 1874 Victorian Gothic building.

The permanent collection in the Met contains around Two million pieces of art. Best parts of the collection consist of American attractive arts, arms and battle suits, outfits, Egyptian art, musical devices and photographs.
