The Staten Island Ferry is a free attraction not only for tourists, but for New York residents as well. It provides a free ride and a fantastic view of the New York Harbor and other popular attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Staten Island Ferry is run by New York City as it services up to 60,000 passengers daily transporting them to and from Staten Island. The 25 minute ferry ride provides any passenger not only a means of transportation, but a few minutes of romantic and breath taking scenery as well.
It is hard to miss a ferry as it travels frequently. On weekdays, 5 boats take turns in the 109 trips transporting the daily passengers every day. During weekends, 3 boats are use taking turns to fulfill 75 trips on Saturdays and 68 trips on Sundays. One can even take a back and forth ride just to take in more of what it has to offer.
