The Brady C. Jefcoat Museum of Americana is an interesting museum in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Housed in the historic Murfreesboro High School, t is filled with the collections of Mr. Brady C. Jefcoat, a Raleigh, NC plumber, general contractor, and electrician.
Mr. Jefcoat collected a lot of things, mostly home items like mousetraps, music boxes, washing machines, toasters, radios, phonographs, and glassware. There are also a great amount of farming tools and equipment and tons of other artifacts. Some items even date back to the 1850s.
Opened in 1997 and operated by the Murfreesboro Historical Association, the Brady C. Jefcoat Museum of Americana is a truly interesting site. It also hosts the annual Roanoke-Chowan Pork-Fest, an NC barbecue cooking competition, picnic and festival.
