Moratock Park is a public park in Danbury, North Carolina. It is best noted for being the home of the Moratock Iron Furnace National Historic Site.
Located along the banks of the Dan River, the Moratock Park offers a wide array of activities and other things to do. You can go fishing, tubing, picnicking, canoeing, and swimming. Folks can also engage in play at the volleyball and softball fields as well as the children?s playground.
Moratock Park also features the 1843 iron smelting furnace that is now known as the Moratock Iron Furnace National Historic Site. Visitors can enjoy the ruins of the historic site while here.
Depending on the schedule, you can also catch an event or two while visiting the Moratock Park since it is also commonly used for various events and celebrations.
