The Mountain Farm Museum is a living museum in Cherokee, North Carolina. It features an actual farmstead located inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The Mountain Farm Museum is a very interesting site to visit, as it is a perfect example of a mountainside farm. It is filled with authentic southern Appalachian farm buildings built during the 19th century by the Davis family, which are mostly a springhouse, blacksmith shop, apple house, barn, and a chestnut log farmhouse. During the summer, visitors can find live animals being raised in the site. There are also a number of demonstrations during these months on blacksmithing, molasses making, and plowing.
Aside from the Mountain Farm Museum, there are also a number of other attractions nearby, like the historic Mingus Mill.
