The William B. Umstead State Park is a state park in Wake County, North Carolina. It is located in the cities of Raleigh, Cary, and Durham.
Established in 1937, the William B. Umstead State Park is a great way to get away from the daily hustle and bustle of city life. Being created around the time when jobs were much needed, the making of the state park not only provided an excellent recreational venue for the public, but also employment.
The William B. Umstead State Park covers more than five thousand acres of land area. It offers a wide array of different activities like picnicking, hiking, camping, horseback riding, biking, and fishing among other things. However, bikes and horses are strictly prohibited on hiking trails.
