The Harn Homestead is an 1889ers museum that focuses on celebrating and preserving the state?s history and culture. The site offers visitors various attractions to explore, including an authentic Victorian home, a single-room schoolhouse, and a territorial farm.

The Harn Homestead originally belonged to William Fremont Harn, who was asked by President Benjamin Harrison himself to serve as the state?s special land commissioner on April 22, 1889. His job was to settle disputes about land claims in the state. Over the years, Harn had acquired various properties in the city, many of which are now registered as a National Historic Place.

The place is available for scheduled and guided tours as well as rentals for events such as reunions and weddings. One of the best times to visit the place is during Christmas, wherein the museum is adorned with 1880s Christmas decor and a special celebratory dinner is prepared in the evening.
