The Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint is a state park and recreation area in Hillsboro, Oregon. It is located on top of the Chehalem Mountains.
Covering 26 acres, the Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint is a day use park that was originally known as the Bald Peak State Park. It was acquired and developed during the 1930s, with the work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps. By the end of that decade, it became considered as a memorial to Oregon?s pioneer women.
Despite being threatened for closure in the past, the Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint remains open thanks to the collective efforts of the public. It has limited amenities, with only picnic tables and restrooms. There?s no drinking water, so visitors are advised to bring their own.
