The Darlingtonia State Natural Site is a state recreational area and botanical park located in Florence, Oregon. As part of the Oregon State Parks system, this area is managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
Darlingtonia State Natural Site is a unique state park as it is the only state park in Oregon that is designated to protect a single particular species. This is the Darlingtoniacalifornica, a rare carnivourous flora which is the only one of its kind in the system. It is the only member of the pitcher plant family in the state of Oregon.
Other than protecting and providing access to the Darlingtoniacalifornica, the Darlingtonia State Natural Area provide ample recreational activities for the park visitor to enjoy. A small picnic area is available in the park and the scenery around the area is perfect for wildlife viewing and nature walks.
