Like most other historic guard stations in the country, the Imnaha Guard Station has been built to provide shelter to the dedicated fire crews. In this case, the employees are of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest in Oregon. It was constructed in 1939 to help workers save time and effort from having to travel miles just to get to their work site.

Like other forest guard stations, the Imnaha Guard Station is also built in the rustic cabin style common among the US Forest and Park agencies? buildings. It has been used every summer after it was completed, but in the mid 1990s, the agency started to rent the cabin to visitors.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, you can check out the site and enjoy various other recreational activities on the site.
