Located near the city of Corvallis, Oregon is the Irish Bend Covered Bridge. It was built in 1954 crossing the Willamette Slough. However, when the Irish Bend Road was realigned, the bridge was left into disrepair.
The Oregon State University stepped in and made an agreement with the Benton County to acquire the historic bridge. It was then moved inside the university and the project was completed in 1989, thanks to the funding of the Irish Bend Advisory Committee and the Benton County.
The Irish Bend Covered Bridge is currently located on the research farm of the OSU. It currently crosses the Oak Creek and is maintained by the Benton County Parks Department. It was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in May 1979.
