Housed in a former Carnegie Library building is the Pendleton Center for the Arts. The historic building was built in 1916, and was left in 1996 due to its dilapidated state. The Arts Council of Pendleton did not want the structure to go to waste by letting it succumb to an ugly fate, so they proposed to renovate the site.

The Pendleton Center for the Arts was the result of this project. Upon completion of the renovation, the Arts Council of Pendleton already had a place to call home, which is the only thing that was still missing for the group. Being the oldest group of the sort in the state, the completion of the historic building further strengthened the group?s foundation.

Today, the Pendleton Center for the Arts provides a good amount of artistic assistance to the public. It offers live music, exhibits, and art classes for both children and adults alike.
