The Rose Garden is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena that is located in downtown Portland, Oregon. It is primarily the home of the National Basketball Association?s Portland Trail Blazers, the city?s local home basketball team. Other sports teams who call this stadium their homes are the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League and Portland State University basketball team.
Opened on October 12, 1995, the arena was named after to represent Portland?s status as the City of Roses. Aside from professional sports, the arena also hosts many indoor events such as ice hockey, circuses, rodeos, ice shows, concerts, conventions, seminars, theater productions, and rodeos. The arena can seat up to 21,401 people during basketball games. The seating arrangement can also be reconfigured for use in other events such as concerts and productions.
