The Signal Station Pizza was originally a gas station which operated in Portland, Oregon during the late thirties. The gas station served dispensing gas for the public for 40 years, until it was converted into a flower shop in the late seventies. The station was built in 1939, with steel paneled style, but the metal skin was covered with plywood when it became a flower shop. Thirty years later, in 2002, the station was sold to a new owner and the plywood cover was removed, and the metal siding was once again revealed. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. In 2006, the station was fully restored, but this time, not as a gas station or a flower shop, but a pizza parlor. The service bay of the station now serves as a kitchen and both the waiting and service area were converted into a dining room.
