The Bee House is an 1833 structure in Pendleton, South Carolina. It is believed to have been built in 1833, according to records telling of its ownership by prominent locals.
The Bee House got its name after Colonel Bernard Bee. Bee and his family lived in this house for a year, after which he bought Gov. James Hamilton?s former home and named it ?The Hive?. After which, the property moved to various other owners. It was not even known if Colonel Bee built the house, as no records can say such for certain. One thing?s for certain, however. It is that the Bee family found Pendleton as their home, as it is where they had their bodies interred.
Today, the Bee House stands as a part of the Pendleton Historic District.
