The Daniel Hingston Bythewood House is a couple of centuries old building in Beaufort, South Carolina. According to sources, the house is believed to have been built around the year 1792 by Danien Hingston Bythewood. The property was for his wife, Elizabeth Taylor.

As tales go, Taylor convinced her husband to settle down on Beaufort. Bythewood was a sea captain and a British merchant, both professions commonly keep him out on voyages. The wife convinced him to go for another profession, and suggested that he build the house and become a Baptist missionary instead. It seems like her plan worked, as folks can still see the old house standing in one of Beaufort Historic District?s neighborhood today.

Some sources say that the 1792 house is being currently restored or has been worked on in the recent past.
