The Denmark Vesey House is one of them. This site is supposedly the former residence o Denmark Vesey, a free man, abolitionist, and even an alleged insurrection instigator. He was hanged in 1822, after being tried and sentenced for his rebellion.

However, the site that is declared as a National Historic Landmark and is believed to be the Denmark Vesey House is filled with anomalous contradictories and issues. It is still declared as an area of such high esteem, though.
