The Dillon County Museum is housed in the restored office of the late Dr. Henry Edwards. This building was built in 1915 and was used for the medical practice of his son, Luther. Dr. Luther?s daughter, Dr. Carolyn Edwards, deeded the building to the Dillon County Historical Society. The restoration project, done in 1996, enabled the office to function today as a museum. It is found beside 2 other historic landmarks, another office building and a family residence.
The museum features exhibits including historical documents, military memorabilia, cotton and tobacco agricultural artifacts, farming implements, old dental and medical equipment, and other indigo and historical pieces.
It is open for tours on certain days of the week from 2p.m. to 4p.m.
