The Elmwood Park Historic District is a historic residential area in the city of Columbia, South Carolina. It was established in the late 1800s when the suburbs of Columbia were being developed.
Originally, the Elmwood Park Historic District was used as fairgrounds. However, when the suburban growth took off in the city, the lands in the area became available to people, and so the start of its residential development commenced.
Mostly noted for its architectural value, the Elmwood Park Historic District features 219 contributing residences. Most of these structures were built in the early 1900s. The houses were in various styles like Four-Square, Queen Anne, Colonial revival, and gable-front. The whole area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
