The history of the Frederick Fraser House is quite unclear. It was said that Frederick Grimke Fraser, the grandson of the Scottish immigrant, John Fraser, acquired the property around 1827 as according to some documents. This means that if the house was built for him, it shouldn?t have traces and evidences of the structure being of existence in the early 1800s, which it does.
Despite the small problematic detail, it is still worth noting that the Frederick Fraser House is a historic building in Beaufort. It is an excellent piece of architecture with its double stairs over a wide arch that leads to a piazza. The high ceilings are also notable for providing natural, light, and airy atmosphere.
Like most other houses in the Beaufort Historic District, folks can see the Frederick Fraser House on the walking tours conducted in the area.
