Built in 1938 by the Atlantic Greyhound Lines, the Greyhound Bus Depot is a former bus station in Columbia, South Carolina. It was used by the intercity Greyhound Lines as their passenger and bus station until it closed down in 1987.
The Greyhound Bus Depot is also notable for being a fine example of the Art Moderne architecture. As the style became popular during the Depression Era, it was the perfect design for the station?s time of construction. It used what were still considered as new materials then, like stainless steel and aluminium.
Aside from serving as a bus station, the Greyhound Bus Depot building was also used as a bank. Currently, it is used as a physician?s office for a plastic surgeon.
