The Hampton Heights is a historic neighbourhood in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It is basically the oldest residential area in the city. It is also one of the closest neighbourhoods to the Morgan Square, which is the historical center of the city.
The Hampton Heights, like many of the historic districts in the country, is composed of a wide array of architectural gems. The oldest house in the area dates back to 1885, although majority was built around the early years of the 1900s, from the year 1900 to the 1930s. The neighbourhood was developed from being a farmland owned by the Kirby family to a residential complex during the 1890s, when the city?s economy boomed.
The Hampton Heights is a designated US Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
