The Horry County Museum contains varied materials including old tools, photographs, and industry miniatures that produce tar and turpentine. The Museum?s exhibits consist of farming tools and implements, clothing and other household items. Visitors can also find old country store items, local crafts, and wildlife specimens. The exhibits focus on the wide range of environmental conditions that exist in Horry County, including the adapting methods that the inhabitants have used from the prehistoric times up to the present. Local artists are also featured every month.
The Museum is located on a converted Post Office that is adjacent to the Historic District of downtown Conway.
The Museum offers many programs and outreach activities for any age. Admission is free for everyone. Every month, special programs that the public are available to the public are held in the museum.
