The Kings Mountain National Military Park is a historic site in Blacksburg, South Carolina. It stands along the Carolinas? border. It was established in 1931 through a Congress act in commemoration to the Battle of Kings Mountain which took place in the area.
The Battle of Kings Mountain is a pivotal event during the American Revolutionary War. It helped the American Patriots to fully protect the Carolinas by hampering the Loyalists? advances to North Carolina and allowed General Nathanael Greene to reorganize the American Army.
The Kings Mountain National Military Park is mostly composed of trails that will take visitors around the battle area. Some sections are being rehabilitated to make them less steep so they could be more accessible to the public.
