Back in its heyday, the Mansfield Plantation in Georgetown, South Carolina used to be one of the biggest rice producers in the country. Its 1000-acre lot is filled with rice fields, pine forest, and cypress swamps.
The Mansfield Plantation, along with its neighbouring rice plantations in the Black River, produced ?Carolina Gold? rice. Its products were supplied to Europe during the 18th and 19th century. Being established in 1718, the Mansfield was really able to provide much supply for a long time.
