The Millford Plantation is a historic site in Pinewood, South Carolina. It is one of the three National Historic Landmarks along the Kings Highway in the High Hills of Santee.
Built in 1839, the Millford Plantation?s mansion is also known as the Governor John L. Manning House. It was constructed for South Carolina former governor, John L. Manning and wife Susan Frances Hampton Manning. It is also known as the state?s finest example of a residential home in the Greek Revival Style.
The Millford Plantation was restored in 1990 when Richard Hampton Jenrette, a co-founder of the Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, a New York investment banking firm, acquired the property. He won the South Carolina Historic Preservation award for his work in the house.
