Established in 1975, the Parris Island Museum is a Marine Corps operated museum in Parris Island, South Carolina. It is located in the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.
In a 10,000 square foot facility, the Parris Island Museum recounts the history of the US Marine Corps and the Port Royal area. It has exhibits that are solely about the USMC, but there are also a couple of artifacts dating back to the start of 19th century.
Aside from the displays, the Parris Island Museum also hosts events and celebrations. One of the top highlights is the New Marine Recruit Graduation and Family Days. The site opens earlier than usual to better cater to visiting family members of the graduating recruits.
