Powder Magazine is a historic site in Charleston, South Carolina, notable for being the oldest remaining public building from the time of the Province of California. Built in 1713 by colonial settlers, the site served as a safe place where folks can store and centralize their gunpowder supply.
The Powder Magazine is also a very old museum in the city of Charleston. It has served as a public venue of the sort since the early 1900s, although, numerous renovations already took place.
