Taste of the Coast, an annual celebration featuring Grand Strand's best in food and beverages, happens for the scholarship funds of Risen Christ Lutheran School students. In its first year, 2,500 participants went to join the fun while an estimate number of 15 restaurants were represented. By 2011, more than 20 restaurants joined and the number of participants doubled. Local entertainment plus good food and drinks, that's what people get at the Taste of the Coast.
Risen Christ Lutheran Church and School, the celebration's beneficiary, is a provider of Christian education in the community. It is located at the Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach. The benefiting school offers ministry accredited by the national office to the locality for Pre-Kindergarten to High School students.
The annual celebration is open to various aspects of entertainers. In fact, annually, they open slots for musicians, balloon artists, magicians, performers and the likes to provide entertainment to the guests who visit the Taste of the Coast. Open to everyone, the annual celebration is sure fun for the whole family. Of course, it is surrounded with various restaurants so that guests can dine while enjoying entertainment shows. Restaurants known to have joined the event include Atlantic Bread Company, Bimini's Oyster Bar, Jimmyz Hibachi, Bully's Pub & Grill, Cakes by the Sea, House of Blues, Johnny Rockets, and many more. For fish delicacies, restaurants such as Flying Fish Public Market & Grill are also there. Pizza lovers can also expect good servings from Ultimate California Pizza.
These restaurants among others partner with the event organizer. The organizing group is still open for more sponsors and vendors who want to take part in this annual celebration. What restaurants do is that they display most of their delicacies and some of it people can taste. Varying from one cuisine to another, guests are able to enjoy their time just doing food tasting. Restaurants gain exposure in return.
