Also called the William Elliott House, The Anchorage is a historic contributing building to the Beaufort Historic District in Beaufort, South Carolina. It was built in 1776 for William Elliott (not to be confused with William Elliott House, a local former politician).

Elliott?s family owned the property for a long time, until it was confiscated during the Civil War by Federal troops. During that time, the Anchorage was used as a hospital. It was later renovated by new owners, Rear Admiral Lester Beardslee and wife. It also served as an inn and restaurant for quite some time.

After being saved from demolition by the Historic Beaufort Foundation in 1971, it was purchased in 2007 by its current owners. It is now available as an events venue.
