The older buildings belonged to the Fullers, a famous and prominent family in the city of Beaufort from the colonial era. They were neighbors with other equally prominent families, like the Eliiots and Samses. The three families even agreed to build a sea wall and deed the lots in front of their homes to the city, so they can be sure that nothing will be built on the area.
