Considered as one of America?s most important Adamesque style houses, the William Blacklock House is a historic building, completed around the year 1800 in Charleston, South Carolina. It was built for William Blacklock House, and some think that the well known architect Gabriel Manigault had something to do with its construction, especially since Blacklock has worked together with Manigault on the construction of the City Hall which was initially a local bank. However, there were no confirmation about this alleged relationship, although, the elements present on the house are apparently very unique to Manigault?s style.
The William Blacklock House is now under the care of the College of Charleston. The institution uses it for the social events that they host, as well as for their Alumni Relations Office.
