A South Carolina native, it is just typical to find the childhood home of one of America?s presidents, Thomas Woodrow Wilson, in the state. The historic estate, located in Columbia, was made even more special because it is the only home that the family ever owned, making the Woodrow Wilson Family House even more historical and special.
Built in 1872, the Woodrow Wilson Family House is one of the two residences that the former president lived at as a young boy. It is made in Tuscan Villa cottage style architecture. It was opened to the public in 1932 as a museum, featuring memorabilia from the family, including the bed where Woodrow Wilson was born in.
However, it is now under restoration and repairs, so folks that are planning to visit may need to check back again sometime in the future.
