The Agriculture Heritage Museum is dedicated to the preservation of the rich agricultural history and rural heritage of the state. Its collections and exhibits that depict technology, crops, and livestock also enables the visitors to be enlightened as they examine human experiences, cultures, and institutions that were developed because of South Dakota?s diverse environment and rural landscape.

To understand the role agriculture in the history of the state, the Museum?s exhibits have included tractors and farm equipment in its Beckman Archive, a recreated 1915 farmhouse, and an original 1882 homestead claim shack. There is also an extensive photo and graphic archive that complement these displays.

A variety of programs are also offered such as book signings, lecture series, and exhibits openings.
