The Dakoland Musuem located in the city of Huron, South Dakota is a museum that is dedicated to preserving the local history and heritage of Huron as well as Beadle County. This museum was established in 1960 and originally named as the South Dakota State Fair Pioneer Museum. The Dakotaland Museum houses more than 5000 artifacts and welcomes thousands of visitors every year.
Among the displays are historical documents, maps, newspapers, photos and many relics. The museum also features the historical and natural history of the American Indians who have once lived in the nearby areas. There is a log cabin exhibit depicting their way of living. It is open on Mondays ? Fridays as well as during Memorial Day through Labor Day.
